전래동요 놀이 활동이 유아의 언어능력과 자아개념에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of Play Activities with Traditional Korean Songs on young Children"s Language Ability and Self-Concept

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 전래동요 놀이 활동이 유아의 언어능력과 자아개념에 어떠한 영향을 미치는가를 알아봄으로써 유아교육 현장에서 전래동요놀이를 교육하는데 필요한 기초자료를 제공하고자 하는데 그 목적이 있다.
연구대상은 경기도 수원시에 위치한 어린이집 2개 학급의 만5세 유아로 실험집단 20명, 비교집단 20명으로 구성되었다. 연구절차는 예비검사, 사전검사, 실험처치, 사후검사의 순서로 진행되었으며, 실험처치를 위해 총 6주 동안 전래동요 놀이 활동을 구성하여 적용하였다.
연구결과는 전래동요 놀이 활동을 실시한 집단의 유아가 비교집단의 유아에 비해 언어능력이 향상된 것으로 나타났으며, 자아개념도 향상된 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 연구결과를 통해 전래동요 놀이 활동이 유아의 언어능력과 자아개념에 효과적인 교수학습 방법이 될 수 있음을 알 수 있었으며 이를 바탕으로 전래동요 놀이의 활용방안을 제시하고 추후 연구과제에 대하여 논의하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purposes of this study were to investigate what kind effects play activities with traditional Korean songs would have on young children"s language ability and self-concept and to provide some basic data to teach traditional Korean songs at kindergartens.
The subjects were five-year-old children from two classes at a daycare center in Suwon, Gyeonggi Province. They were divided into the experiment group and comparison group, each of which consisted of 20. The procedures occurred in the order of preliminary test, pretest, experimental treatments, and posttest. For the experimental treatments, play activities with traditional Korean songs were made and applied to the experiment group for total six weeks.
As a result, the childrens of the group that followed the play activities with traditional Korean songs improved their language ability and self-concept more than those of the comparison group. Such results indicate that play activities with traditional Korean songs can be effective teaching and learning methods to enhance young children"s language ability and self-concept. Based on the results, suggestions were made about how to make use of traditional Korean songs and discussions were made about future research tasks.
