커뮤니티 기반 다문화수업 모형 개발에 대한 연구: 초등학교 수업사례를 중심으로 = A Study on the Development of A Teaching Model for Community-based Multicultural Class

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Multicutural education came into being initially as a pragmatic response to a number of practical issues that surfaced in the last decade as a result of the increasing cultural and ethnic diversity within our country. However, in reality, the practice of multicultural education tends to underestimate the influence of diverse cultural factors on a children`s learning and the importance of teaching strategies. Therefore, this study aimed to develop a teaching model for the multicultural class, for which this study conducted 6 classes of multicultural education as a formative evaluation of the model during two months(April to May, 2008) to the thirty students of 6 graders of an elementary school in Seoul. Based upon the results of the pilot study, the teaching model for the multicultural education was developed, called `a teaching model for community-based multicultural class`. Throughout the whole process and activities of the model, `pluralism` has been a core key word to distinctively represent this model. In conclusion, multicultural education should be aimed as `literacy` needed for the students living in the multicultural society.
