메가스포츠 이벤트 유치와 지역사회 파급효과의 관계 = The Relationship between Mega Sport Event Inducement and Ripple Effect to Community

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

After experiencing national development through the 1988 Seoul Olympic Games and the 2002 Korea-Japan World Cup, Korea has adopted hosting a mega-event as a strategy to develop the economy of local communities. The present study purported to suggest new perspectives on the effects of hosting a mega-sport event by exploring the positive as well as negative effects of the event. In order to achieve the study purpose, the ripple effects of a mega-sport event are divided into socio-economical effects and environment-friendly preparation and analyzed.
The main issues related to a mega-sport event are who will receive the benefits of the event and how well we can manage relevant facilities after the event. In order to effectively tackle the related issues with a mega-sport event, potential hosting governments of the event should maximize its effects through diversified analyses, and a variety of studies on a mega-sport event should actively conducted.
