This study examines the impact of organizational culture on organizational effectiveness (organizational commitment and job satisfaction) in Korean local government. Four major findings are reported; (1) some organizational cultures differ significantly across local governments, and across units of local governments ; (2) the type of organizational culture has an impact on organizational commitment and job satisfaction; (3) strong comprehensive culture, in contrast to other culture profiles, more significantly impacts organizational commitment and job satisfaction; (4) however, the strength of organizational culture does not have a significant effect on organizational commitment and job satisfaction.
