코포라티즘적 계급정치와 언론보도 - 정리해고제의 사회적 합의 형성과정을 중심으로

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 국가ㆍ자본ㆍ노동의 3자 관계를 토대로 할 때, 노동시장 유연화와 같은 경제구조 변화에 언론이 어떤 작용을 할 것인가를 규명하는 것이다. 자본주의적 생산과 분배에 직접 작용하는 경제구조 변화는 첨예한 계급갈등이 뒤따르기 때문에 새로운 헤게모니적 질서를 통해 정당화되지 않으면 불가능하다. IMF 외환위기를 배경으로 출범한 김대중 정부는 노사정위원회를 수립하고 정리해고에 대한 사회적 합의를 도출함으로써 새로운 헤게모니적 질서수립에 성공한다. 이 연구는 《중앙일보》와 《한겨레신문》을 중심으로 국가의 이와 같은 권력행사에 언론이 어떤 역할을 수행했는지 담론분석을 통해 파악하고자 했다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

I examine how the press has influence on the change of economic structure such as a labor-market flexibility, on the basis of the three great agents : the state-capitalist-wage laborer. The change of the economic structure which has a direct effect on the capitalist production and distribution can succeed only if it is justified by the new hegemonic order. The reason is that it leads to a sharp conflict between the classes. The Kim Dae-jung Administration which had started in the middle of the foreign exchange crisis was successful in establishing the new hegemonic order by devising the corporatism and dismissing the laborer for managerial reasons by the common consent. I explore how the press plays a role in a matter of the state power by analyzing discourses both the JoongAng Ilbo and the Hankyoreh Shinmun. On the basis of the opposition between the dominant discourse and the counter discourse, this research is made for three years from 1996 to 1998. I analyze the mode of conflict between the dominant discourse and the counter discourse by quoting the mode of interruption and the mode of interpretation proposed by B. Jessop. The study shows that the mode of discourse is based on the mode of interpretation, which exclude and marginalize the partner's opinion, changing into the mode of interruption during the foreign exchange cnsis. The turn of the mode of interpretation into the mode of interruption enables the state to execute the hegemonic project. Later, however, the mode of discourse converts the mode of interruption into the mode of interpretation with the forced adjustment of employment by the state. We have thus seen that the corporatism does not promote the laborer's participation in the political affairs.
