This study was designed to examine preservice and inservice teachers' beliefs in goal orientation, teacher efficacy, and developmentally appropriate practice in early childhood education. In addition, the intercorrelations among these teachers' beliefs were investigated. The results indicated that inservice teachers had high scores in teacher efficacy beliefs and low beliefs in developmentally appropriate practice. The higher the educutional lavels of inservice teachers were, the lower the teacher's beliefs in developementally inapptopriate practive were. For preservice teachers, seniors had higher belief scores in developmentally appropriate practice than juniors. The results support the importance of teacher education.
