      This study is to search for various strategies of motivating human, which is the driving force in activating and determining directions of his/her behaviors. In order to maximize learning effects, it was found that the promotion of the intrinsic motivation of learners is mostly effective, by encouraging them to study voluntarily. Therefore, this study, through recent researches, had attempted to analyze theoretical assumptions about self-regulation promoting intrinsic motivation, teaching strategies and techniques on learning environments, and goals approach stimulating motivation.
      Above all, the intrinsic motivation is aimed to the development of action itself and it also represents the starting point happening within the normal individual him/herself (by nature). A student who is voluntarily motivated tends to not only carefully explore data and but deliberatly take into account of alternative ways for solving problems. The extrinsic motivational orientation can stimulate the excution of behavior, by the external factors such as teacher's evaluation and/or rewards. However, learners tend to feel incompetence and to show sings of maladjustment to the external controlling forces,
      It is possible to designate as situation-specific in case that the tendency of motivating individual learner changes as time goes and learning environment changes, and as trait in case that a learner shows consistency in his/her behaviors, regardless of time and learning environment.
      From the above analysis, it is enough to stress that teachers are to stimulate academic activities of students, providing students with opportunities for learning new knowledge and skills, that are, important factors in formulating instructional strategies.
      For example, the instructional game was regardes as one of the effective motivating technique that enables students to voluntarily learn and acquire new techniques and informations, by bringing enthusiam, enjoyment and drive to learners. The factor in promoting the learning goals, emphasizing the development of competence, is closely related to the stimulating intrinsic motivation. The factor in promoting the performance goals, emphasizing the evaluation of competence, decreases the intrinsic motion.
      As above, it is needed that motivation is to be stimulated and encouraged, by utilizing various strategies, as well as various measures are to be undertaken for upgrading the academic achivement.
