Abstract
The purpose of this article is to integrate the various conceptual frameworks of IT
performance management, and to study the approaches for planning, measurement, and
evaluation of IT performance. Performance management includes a systematic approach
for performance improvement, and is called results-based management. When
performance evaluation is done by an independent third party, it is commonly called as
'performance audit'. Information technology performance can be audited via traditional
financial analysis as well as ISO/IEC 12207 life cycle applied to IT project.
