교수효과성 향상을 위한 교장의 수업지도성 = Improvements of Principal`s Instructional Leadership for Effective Teaching

국문 초록 (Abstract)

교장은 교직원 인사, 시설관리, 교육재정, 학교행정 등 일상적 관리 업무에 많은 시간을 투입하고, 교육과정 개발이나 교수-학습과 같은 수업지도성의 역할에는 상대적으로 적은 시간을 투입하는 경향이 있다. 학교 교육의 목표는 학생들의 능력과 성장 가능성을 최대한 개발해 주는 데 있으므로 학생들의 학습과 성장이 일어나는 실제 수업 장면과 인성교육이 학교 교육 활동의 중심이 되어야 함을 간과해서는 안 된다. 교장은 수업 전문가로서 교사의 교수 효과성과 학생들의 학습 기회를 높여 주어야 하고, 최근의 연구 동향과 새로운 교수 방법·전략을 시도해 주도록 격려해 주며 질 높은 교수-학습을 강조해야 한다. 교장은 교육프로그램의 이해와 교육과정 관리에 머물러서는 안 되며 수업 전문가로서 교사의 수업 관찰 분석, 교수-학습 개선, 평가 결과 분석 등 교사 개개인의 입장과 요구와 애로 사항 등을 이해하고 도와 줄 수 있어야 한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to identify improvements of principal`s instructional leadership for effective teaching of teachers in elementary school. Generally, the Korean elementary school principals has been concerned with the implementation of national program requirements, personnel management, school budgets, improvement in accommodation as managerial officers rather than as creative leader. Much of the relevant literature identifies principal`s responsibility as the entire set of managerial and instructional functions. Conflics always take place between the desire to lead in instruction and learning and the responsibility to operate school smoothly through the proper administration and management. The major concerns of school are educational program, curriculum and instruction, teaching and learning, and supervision and evaluation. But most of principals spend most of their time on management details and they act mainly as business managers. Many educators generally agree that upgrade the quality of education as one of the most important outcomes of an effective instructional leadership. School principals must understand instructional leadership and implement educational program and curriculum development, identify and apply effective instructional strategies, run a business effeciently. They must provide high learning climate, develop a supportive work environment, establish positive expectations and standards. They must develop effective evaluation system. School principals should try to strengthen their professionality to perform instructional leadership more effectively.
