      In today`s world, it is no longer a question of whether a major crisis will strike any organization. It`s only a matter of when, which type and how. Therefore a Chief Executive Officer (CEO)`s role related to crisis management becomes more important. The studies of crisis management of companies are few in Korea and the studies of crisis management and CEO leadership have been done separately in the past. The studies of the correlation of crisis management and CEO leadership have been partially done in the other countries. This study is trying to analyze the crisis preparedness according to CEO leadership styles. The study objectives are (1) to measure the difference of crisis types experienced according to CEO leadership styles (2) to measure the difference of the crisis preparedness to crisis types according to CEO leadership styles (3) to measure the difference of the crisis preparedness to each crisis phases according to CEO leadership styles. The survey had been done on the Korean major companies. The results are summarized as follows; 1. The frequency of ``economical crisis type`` and ``informational crisis type`` are higher than ``production/sales crisis type`` and ``psychopathic crisis type.`` The frequency of ``shortage of money and money flow`` is high in case of ``economical crisis type``; the frequency of ``disgrace of company image and bad rumor`` is high in case of ``informational crisis type; ``the frequency of ``unskilled operation`` is high in case of ``production/sales crisis type``; the frequency of ``labour dispute`` is high in case of ``psychopathic crisis type.`` 2. The crisis prepared level of the transactional leadership is higher than the other leadership styles. The crisis prepared level of the transformational and the charismatic are almost same. Meanwhile the crisis prepared level of ``production/sales crisis type`` is higher than of any other crises. 3. The crisis prepared level of the transactional leadership to the crisis management phases is higher than other leadership styles. The prepared level of the charismatic leadership is slightly higher than the transformational.
