유아의 초등학교 적응을 위한 전이 프로그램의 운영실태 = Research on the Current Transition Programs for Adjusting from Kindergarten to Elementary School

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to better understand the current transition programs in kindergarten that prepare children for entering elementary school after completing kindergarten. The study also looks at the differences between teachers’ perceptions of the relevant procedures and actual functioning of these programs.
The subjects for this research were 254 kindergarten teachers who have had experience teaching five-year-old children in metropolitan regions including Seoul, Incheon and Gyeoggido province.
The results of this study show that teachers were well aware of the necessary implementation of transition programs. However, the programs were not successful in easing children’s difficulties and preventing anxiety, due to the limitation of having only a single teacher to implement these programs.
Furthermore, when comparing different teachers’ perceptions of these programs, it was found that the execution rate of these programs was low due to the fact that teachers have certain problems. These problems include lack of assistance from other professional people, lack of teachers understanding about curriculums at elementary schools, and lack of appropriate materials for transition programs.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유치원에서 이루어지고 있는 초등학교 전이 프로그램의 현황과 전이 프로그램 내용 요소들의 중요도에 대한 교사들의 인식과 실제는 어떤 차이가 있는지를 알아보았으며 수도권 지역의 취학 전 학급을 담임한 경험을 가지고 있는 유치원 교사 254명이 참여하였다. 연구결과, 유치원에서 전이 프로그램의 필요성에 대한 인식과 함께 실제적인 운영을 하고 있었으나 대부분의 운영방법이나 내용이 교사주도적인 활동들로 이루어져 있어서, 유아들이 전이과정에서 겪게 되는 어려움을 해소하는데 많은 제한점을 가지고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 전이 프로그램의 인식에 비해 실제 실행 정도는 낮았으며 그에 대한 원인으로는 교사의 전이프로그램과 관련된 인적 자원 섭외의 어려움, 초등학교 교육과정 전반에 대하여 유아교사들의 이해 부족, 전이 프로그램을 수행하는데 필요한 자료와 전문성의 부족 등을 지적하였다.
