한국판 일반적 태도 및 신념 척도 개발 및 타당화 연구 = Development and validation study of the General Attitude and Belief Scale-Korean version

The General Attitude and Belief Scale(GABS) is a scale to assess irrational beliefs on the basis of Ellis's theory. The aim of the present study is to develop and validate the GABS-Korean version. In study 1, the GABS was administered to 405 undergraduate students for exploratory factor analysis. The results showed that the irrational belief scale of the GABS-K was composed of five factors(Need for Approval, Need for Achievement, Need for Comfort, Demands for Fairness), and the GABS-K was positively correlated with other irrational belief scales. In study 2, confirmatory factor analysis of the GABS-K showed that 5 factor model was supported satisfactorily, and the client group was higher than the normal student group in all the irrational belief subscales. Subjects with the higher irrational beliefs tend to be higher Anger-out/ Anger-in and more angry and hostile.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

일반적 태도 및 신념 척도(General Attitude and Belief Scale: GABS)는 Ellis의 이론에 근거해서 비합리적 신념을 측정하기 위해서 개발된 척도다. 본 연구의 목적은 GABS의 한국판(GABS-K)을 개발하고 타당화하는 것으로, 이를 위해서 GABS에 대한 탐색적 요인분석을 실시하였다. 그 결과, 인정욕구, 자기비하, 편안함 욕구, 성취욕구, 공정성 요구 등으로 구성된 5 요인 모델이 확인되었으며, 이 모델은 확인적 요인분석에서도 양호하게 지지되었고 기존의 다양한 비합리적 신념 척도들과도 높은 정적 상관을 보였다. 대학생 집단과 내담자 집단을 비교한 결과, 내담자 집단이 대학생 집단에 비해서 비합리적 신념에서 유의하게 더 높은 수준을 보였다. 또한 비합리적 신념 수준이 높을수록 분노감과 적대감 수준이 높고 분노표출과 분노억제 같은 부적응적인 분노표현 양상을 더 많이 보였다. 이러한 연구 결과들은 비합리적 신념이 심리적 부적응과 관련된 개인의 인지적 취약성을 잘 반영하고 있으며, GABS-K가 이러한 비합리적 신념을 평가하는 유용한 도구로 사용될 수 있음을 시사해 준다.
