한국 대학생의 상담, 심리치료, 정신치료에 대한 태도 = Korean College Students' Attitudes Toward Counseling, Psychotherapy, and Psychiatric Help

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 한국 남녀 대학생 572명을 대상으로 전문적인 심리적 도움(professional psychological help)을 받는 것에 대한 태도를 측정하였다. 전문적인 심리적 도움은 상담, 심리치료, 정신치료 세 가지 형태로 나누어 측정하였다. 전문적 도움에 대한 태도를 측정하기 위해서 Fisher와 Turner(1970)가 개발한 ‘전문적인 심리적 도움 추구에 대한 태도 질문지(Attitudes toward Seeking Professional Psychological Help Scale; ATPPHS)’를 사용하였다. ATPPHS는 도움 필요의 인정, 낙인수용, 개방성, 전문가에 대한 신뢰의 4가지 하위척도로 구성되어 있다. 본 연구의 확인적 요인분석 결과, 한국인을 대상으로 했을 때도 서구인들을 대상으로 한 경우와 마찬가지로 4요인 구조가 적합한 것으로 나타났으나 몇 개의 개별문항들은 적절하지 않은 것으로 나타났다. 도움의 3가지 형태와 남녀에 따라 도움 추구에 대한 태도에 차이가 있는지를 다변량분석으로 분석한 결과, 정신치료에 대해 상담 및 심리치료 보다 낙인수용에 대해 더 부정적인 태도를 보였다. 또한 여자 대학생들이 남자 대학생들에 비해 정신치료, 심리치료, 상담 모두의 경우 통계적으로 유의하게 긍정적인 태도를 보였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The primary purpose of the present study was to validate the factor structure of the ATSPPH scale with the Korean sample. Specifically, I examined whether the four - factor structure model of the original ATSPPHS can be obtained with the Korean sample. Also, I investigated whether Koreans have different attitudes toward different types of professional psychological services, such as counseling, psychotherapy, and psychiatric help. Thus, I developed the tree Korean-translated versions of the ATSPPHS measuring the attitude toward the three different types of professional psychological help, such as counseling, psychotherapy, and psychiatric help. Korea. Participants were 572 college students in Korea, and they were ranged in age from 18 to 34 (M= 21.45). The Attitude toward Seeking Professional Psychological Help Scale (ATSPPHS; Fisher and Turner, 1970) was used to measure the attitude toward seeking professional psychological help. The result of the confirmatory factor analysis confirmed the 4 factor structure of the ATSPPHS with the Korean sample. The result of the MANOVA indicated that women showed significantly more positive attitudes than men. Also, people were shown more concerns about the stigma attached to psychiatric help than counseling or psychotherapy.
