가족 관련 정체성에 대한 감정적 의미 비교연구: 한국, 중국, 미국의 대학생 조사 자료를 중심으로 = A Comparative Study of the Affective Meaning of Family-Related Identity: The Case of Korean, Chinese, and the U.S. College Students

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study examines the cross-cultural universals and particularities in the family relations. For this purpose, the data of the family-related identities and their evaluation of Korean, Chinese, and the U.S. college students were investigated. The three nations` evaluative criteria for family-related identities were categorized into four dimensions: sociability, responsibility, potency, and activity. In addition to that universal, particularities were also found in terms of potency structure. Korean and Chinese students showed more male-dominated potency structure. Finally, the U.S. students seem to have more stable value systems and expected roles for each family member. They showed lower variances overall in the evaluation of the family-related identities. Korea turned out to have the traditional senses of value mixed together with the changed ones as the family had been changing.
