손자녀를 양육하는 조부모의 부담과 보상감 = Caregiving Burden and Rewards for the Grandparents Raising Grandchildren

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 손자녀의 양육에서 경험한 조부모의 부담과 보상감, 그들에 대한 사회복지서비스현황 등에 관한 연구결과들을 살펴보고서 조손가족을 위한 정책적 과제를 제시한 글이다. 손자녀의 양육에서 경험한 조부모의 부담들로는 건강이나 경제 문제, 가족관계의 악화, 양육의 어려움, 심리적 문제, 사회적 지지의 부족 등이 있었던 반면, 보상감의 경험들도 신체적, 경제적, 및 사회적 차원에서 다양하게 존재했다. 현재 충분하지는 않더라도 조손가족을 위한 사회복지서비스로 생계급여, 주거급여, 교육급여, 의료급여, 위기가정서비스, 빈곤가정위기지원사업과 결식아동급식지원 사업 등이 제공되고 있지만, 조손가족을 위한 정책과제로 조부모의 신체적 건강증진이나 양육스트레스감소를 목적으로 한 프로그램 개발 및 제공, 조손가정의 경제적 지원, 자조모임의 결성지원을 비롯하여 보상감을 강화시켜주는 프로그램 개발과 제공, 조손가정을 보다 현실적인 복지체계망에 편입시키는 것 등을 제시했다.

This paper was to review articles dealing with caregiving burden and rewards for the grandparents who raised their grandchildren. The major difficulties that they suffered from caregiving their grandchildren were deterioration in health condition, lack of finance, low social support, changes in family relationship, psychological problems, and so on, whereas the rewards that they have experienced were physical, emotional, economical, and social rewards. A number of social welfare services and policy tasks for them, including many grants and educational programs, were discussed in the context of empowering them.
