풍속 개량 담론을 통해 본 근대계몽가사의 욕망과 문명의 시선- 대한매일신보를 중심으로 -

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문에서는 대한매일신보󰡕에 실린 풍속개량 담론을 분석하였다. 그 목적은 1905～1910년 사이 대중들의 욕망과 문명의 시선으로 이를 통제하려는 계몽지식인 사이의 역학적 장을 살펴보고자 함이다. 계몽지식인들은 신문매체를 통하여 풍속과 관련한 성담론을 지속적으로 유포하였는데, 그것은 곧 국민국가 건설과 국민 만들기라는 계몽의 기획 아래 이루어진 것이다. 이 논문에서는 신체의 재발견과 생식의 측면에서만 허용되는 성, 결혼 풍속과 가정관리, 사회풍속의 개량 등 이 시기에 이루어진 성 풍속 담론의 다면적 면모를 분석하고 그 의미를 고찰하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study analyzes the discourses upon the improvement of public morals in the enlightenment period of the modern age, through the records in the Daehanmaeilsinbo(The Korea Daily News). The purpose of the analyzation is to investigate the conflict between the masses who had worldly desires and the intellectuals who intended to regulate them from the point of civilization. The intellectuals continuously disseminated discourses on sexuality in the press with the object of building the nation state. This study examined various aspects of the discourses such as rediscoveries of the body, moderate sexual intercourses, desirable marriage practices and home lives, and improvements of public morals.
