      The purpose of this study was to investigate teacher`s competencies for career education in order to practice successfully career education and enhance student`s satisfaction on career education. To achieve this purpose, literatures about 4 cases of US, Canada, and Australia were collected and analyzed. As a results of this study, 11 clusters of competencies for career-guide experts were suggested by researchers. 11 clusters were like this: Understanding and utilization of career theory, understanding of labor market, counseling theory & skills, understanding·management·evaluation of program(learning & training) development, understanding of test·evaluation theory, ethical standards, understanding of diversity, management·utilization of information, advertisement & interaction, understanding & utilization of technology, professional activities. The common competencies were understanding and utilization of career theory, ethical standards, and professional activities which were emphasized by all 4 cases. But understanding of labor market and understanding & utilization of technology were contained as the competencies by only 2 cases. Also, in this study, the definitions of 11 clusters were suggested as the competencies needed for teachers in doing career education at school. Based on the results, implications were suggested.

      The purpose of this study was to investigate teacher`s competencies for career education in order to practice successfully career education and enhance student`s satisfaction on career education. To achieve this purpose, literatures about 4 cases of US, Canada, and Australia were collected and analyzed. As a results of this study, 11 clusters of competencies for career-guide experts were suggested by researchers. 11 clusters were like this: Understanding and utilization of career theory, understanding of labor market, counseling theory & skills, understanding·management·evaluation of program(learning & training) development, understanding of test·evaluation theory, ethical standards, understanding of diversity, management·utilization of information, advertisement & interaction, understanding & utilization of technology, professional activities. The common competencies were understanding and utilization of career theory, ethical standards, and professional activities which were emphasized by all 4 cases. But understanding of labor market and understanding & utilization of technology were contained as the competencies by only 2 cases. Also, in this study, the definitions of 11 clusters were suggested as the competencies needed for teachers in doing career education at school. Based on the results, implications were suggested.
