This study was to investigate the differences between social intelligence, Self-efficacy levels and background variables of sex, grade, region, and brothership. The relationship between social intelligence and Self-efficacy was also tested.
The results of study follow as: first, there is no precedent comparative view but social intelligence and Self-efficacy were not high, 2.5, 2.7 respectively from Likert's 5 point scale. Second, There was no difference between sex and region except in the case of grade, age and brother relationships containing the case of non-only child. Third, the lower the rank of brother relationship, the higher Self-efficacy was, even though this was not statistically significant. Fourth, there was a positive simple correlation between social intelligence and Self-efficacy(simple correlation analysis, Cronbach's α .64, partial correlation analysis Cronbach's α .57).
Only academic intelligence-focused education has been recently performed in Korea. However, education policy, administration, and curriculum must emphasize the balance between social intelligence and academic intelligence in order to make students who can adjust to society well.
