남북한 관계와 인식-행위 연계모형 = Inter-Korean Relations and Image-Behavior Linkage Models

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Two approaches to the analysis of decision maker’s image in world politics are (1)direct method using
survey or content analysis data, (2)indirect method using theoretically feasible models. Assuming the
image-behavior linkage, the weekly event data from the AP world news service were collected to infer
the best model to explain the dynamic inter-Korean relations, 1998-2006. Bargain model for North
Korea, and Hostility Insensitive model for South Korea were selected as our final best models. This
asymmetrical preceptual mapping process would eventually lead to a risk of ‘cooperation fatigue’ in
South Korea.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

외교정책 결정자의 인식 연구에는 직접조사 및 간접조사 방법이 있다. 설문조사와 내용분석을 이용한 인식의 직접조사는 장기간의 인식 변화 연구에 한계가 있다. 이에 대한 대안으로 인식-행위 연계를 이용한 인식의 간접조사를 시도하였다. 인식의 추정은 다양한 이론적 모형과 경험적 자료의 비교로 가능하다. 남북한 관계에서 사건자료를 이용하여 1998-2006년 기간 동안 주간별 자료를 분석할 결과 북한은 협상 모형이 남한은 갈등둔감 모형이 최적 모형으로 선택되었다. 이러한 남북한 인식형성 과정의 비대칭성은 장기적으로‘협력 피로’현상을 동반할 위험이 있다.
