중학생의 직업가치에 관한 연구 = A Study on Job Values of Middle School Students

This study explored the job values of middle school students in Korea by examining differences in job values and determinants of job values. I used the 2004 KYPS(Korea Youth Panel Survey) data of 3,449 middle school seniors in this study. Students' preference for job values was significantly different according to their parents' education, socio-economic status, students' sex, and educational aspiration. As a result of analyzing the determinants of job values, the findings indicated that individual related variables such as sex, academic achievement, educational aspiration of students, and sex role attitude significantly affected job values than family background variables. These findings suggested that specification of job values's measurement and the relationships between job values, family background and individual related variables should be examined.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 중학교 청소년들의 직업가치가 배경변인에 따라 어떠한 차이를 나타내는지, 또한 어떤 변인들이 직업가치에 영향을 미치는지를 분석하였다. 본 연구에서는 2004년 한국청소년패널조사(Korea Youth Panel Survey)의 중학교 3학년생 3,449명의 자료를 사용하였다. 직업가치에 관한 본격적인 분석에 앞서, 직업가치에 대한 요인분석을 실시한 결과 직업가치는 네 개의 요인으로 추출되었다. 직업가치 요인들의 차이 분석 결과, 부모의 학력 및 직업, 학생의 성별, 교육포부 수준에 따라 차이가 나타났다. 다음으로 직업가치 요인들에 어떠한 변인들이 영향을 미치는지를 살펴본 결과, 전반적으로 가정배경 변인들의 영향보다는 성별, 학업성취, 학생의 교육포부 수준, 성역할 태도가 유의미한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 분석 결과, 직업가치에 대한 측정을 정교화하고 직업가치에 대한 선호가 가정배경 변인 및 학생 개인특성 변인과는 어떤 관련성을 맺고 있는지에 대한 추후 분석의 필요성을 도출할 수 있었다.
