수학교육에 대한 유아교사의 인식 = The early childhood teacher's perception on the mathematics education

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study is to find out kindergarten teachers' perception on mathematics education. To this end, 20 kindergarten teachers who work at kindergarten at J city and I city in Jeollabuk-do were interviewed by the researchers. The open ended questionnaire that developed by researchers through theoretical investigation was used for interview. The results are as follows: First, kindergarten teachers perceived the understanding of mathematical concept and theory, the acquisition of basic counting skill, and the formation of positive attitude as the aim of mathematics education for young children. Second, they thought that various contents should be contained in math education, but they didn't have the knowledge about the content of mathematical education. Third. besides the manipulation of concrete objects, they called for the search of new teaching method, in-service education and the distribution of teaching material that was related to the practical method on math education. Fourth, most of the teachers did not administer any procedure to evaluate children' informal math ability because of the lack of related knowledge.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 수학교육에 대한 유아교사들의 인식을 알아보는 것이다. 이를 위해 전라북도 J시와 I시의 20개 공?사립 유치원의 교사 20명을 대상으로 유아 수학교육에 관한 면담을 실시하였다. 수학교육에 대한 유아교사의 인식을 파악하기 위해 문헌자료를 토대로 연구자가 작성한 개방식 질문을 사용하였다. 인식 조사 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 유아 수학교육의 목적에 대한 인식은 수학적 개념 및 원리의 이해, 수 관련 기초기술 습득, 또는 수학에 대한 긍정적 태도 형성 등 다양하였다. 둘째, 수학교육의 내용과 관련하여 교육내용의 다양화가 필요하나, 이에 관한 지식이 부족하다고 생각하고 있었다. 셋째, 수학교육의 일반적인 방법으로 교구중심의 교수 방법을 제시하였으나, 새로운 교수 방법에 대한 모색과 교사교육 및 수업자료 보급이 필요하다고 제안하였다. 넷째, 수학교육의 평가에 있어 유아의 비형식적 수학 능력의 가치를 인정하나, 이의 평가 방법에 대한 지식의 부족으로 수학교육에 대한 평가를 하지 못한다고 하였다.
