고령화의 주요 사회이론과 담론 = Social Theories and Discourses on Population Aging

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

This study illustrates a variety of social theories on aging. It also attempts to access ‘population aging crisis' which constitutes a main discourse of aging in the public and academics. Social theories are classified by the level of analysis and the time of their emergence. Micro level approaches, which focuses on the individual or agency, encompass role theory, activity theory, continuity theory, social breakdown syndrome, social exchange theory, and social constructionist perspectives. Micro-macro link approaches include disengagement theory, modernization theory, subculture theory, age stratification theory, life course perspective, and feminist perspective. Macro level approaches are reviewed with political economy of population aging and critical theory. As for 'population aging crisis', their characteristics and problems are accessed from the perspective of political economy. The study confines its role to providing solid knowledge on existing theories and critical perspectives.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 논문은 고령화의 주요 사회이론을 총괄적으로 소개하는 한편, 한국사회의 고령화 담론이 가진 성격과 문제점을 파악하려는 목적을 가진다. 고령화 사회이론은 분석수준과 등장시점을 중심으로 분류하였으며, 기존의 논의들을 재정리하는 형식을 취하였다. 개인과 행위 주체를 강조하는 미시적 이론으로는 노화에 대한 개인의 적응을 분석하는 역할이론과 활동이론, 이를 발전시킨 지속성이론과 사회적 와해이론, 세대간 자원교환의 과정과 결과를 다루는 사회교환이론, 노후경험의 다양성 및 사회적 규정성에 초점을 맞추는 사회구성주의적 시각이 포함되었다. 개인적 수준 뿐 아니라 사회적 수준에서 일어나는 노화의 과정과 역동성에 주목하는 미시와 거시 연계이론에는 유리이론, 현대화이론, 하위문화이론, 연령계층화이론, 생애과정관점, 여성주의이론 등이 포함되었다. 거시적 이론으로는 정치경제학적 접근과 비판이론을 소개하였다. 한국사회의 고령화담론은 고령화위기론을 축으로 전개되고 있다고 파악하고 이에 대한 비판적 성찰을 소개하였다. 또한 정치경제학적 접근을 소개함으로써 대안적 접근의 가능성을 논의하였다.
