가정의 사회적∙물리적, 심리적 환경 변인과 청소년 인터넷 게임중독성향간의 관계 = The Relationship among Physical and Psychological Home Environment Variables on Adolescents' Internet Game Addiction Disposition

The aim of this study was to identify the influence of social and physical home environment and psychological home environment variables on adolescents' Internet game addiction disposition. For this purpose, relevant variables of Internet game addiction were categorized as home environment trait-related variables based on previous studies. The subjects were 339 elementary, middle and high school students. The data analysis was conducted by way of a t-test, correlation analysis and multiple regression analysis. The results of this study could be summarized as follows.
First, the social and physical home environment had a significant difference on Internet game addiction disposition based on the subordinate variables of whether or not the subjects were living together with their mothers, whether or not their fathers also played games and the existence or nonexistence of brothers and sisters. Second, a significantly discriminative correlation was obtained based on all of the eight subordinate variables on psychological home environment, but it was not obtained based on the social and physical home environment on Internet game addiction disposition. Third, physical and psychological home environment variables explain 15% of Internet game addiction disposition. Adolescents' Internet game addiction disposition was sensitively operated based more on psychological home environment variables than on their social and physical home environment. Fourth, regarding gender and developmental stage, female students showed a higher tendency to be affected by social, physical and psychological home environments than male students, and females also showed a higher tendency to be affected more by their psychological home environment than by their social and physical home environment. Lastly, the social, physical and psychological home environment was shown to affect high school students more than middle school students.
