중학교 학생의 학업성취에 대한 학교 풍토 변인의 영향 분석 -평균 성취 수준과 학생 간 격차와 관련하여- = A study on the effect of school climates on student achievement in Korean middle school: in terms of improving achievement and closing a gap.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구는 학교의 학업 성취 강조와 공동체적 특성이 평균적인 성취 수준과 학생 배경에 따른 격차에 어떤 영향을 미치는가를 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 한국교육종단연구2005 데이터를 활용하여 150개 중학교 1학년 학생 6,908명의 수학과 영어 점수를 분석하였다. 분석 결과는 학업 성취를 강조하는 학교일수록 두 과목에서 평균적인 성취 수준이 높았으며 부모 교육수준에 따른 격차도 적은 것으로 나타났다. 학교의 공동체적 특성은 평균적인 성취 수준에는 별다른 영향력을 미치지 못하였지만, 사전 성취 수준에 따른 격차는 완화시키는 것으로 나타났다. 비록 모든 배경 변인에 대해서 일관되게 나타나는 것은 아니지만 학교 풍토 변인들이 평균적인 성취수준은 물론 학생 배경에 따른 격차의 완화에도 관련되어 있을 가능성을 보여준다.
