This research was purposed to investigate the college students` level of goal orientation and analyze the relationship between self-regulated learning and goal orientation by 2 x 2 goal framework. A survey was conducted to the 212 college students who attended teaching profession courses. The research findings are as follows: The first, the score of the mastery -approach goal is the highest, and the performance-approach goal, performance-avoidance goal, mastery-avoidance goal are following. The second, the goal type which is high score in four goal orientations were the most frequent and the type which is low score in four goal orientation were following. The third, All of the four achievement goals were positively correlated except between mastery approach and performance avoidance. Particularly, above the correlations between mastery avoidance goal and the other goal orientation, the correlation between mastery avoidance goal and performance avoidance goal was the strongest. The fourth, mastery approach and performance approach were correlated with self-regulated learning positively, but the mastery approach were stronger relationships than performance approach goal. The result of regression analysis, mastery approach goal is the meaningful predictor of all of the variables related with self-regulated learning, performance approach goal is meaningful predictor of self-efficacy, time -management, effort-control, and help-seeking. but mastery-avoidance goal and performance avoidance goal were not positive predictors of self-regulated learning. This result revealed that avoidance goal orientation would be mal-adaptive in self-regulated learning.
