무엇이 삶을 살만한 가치가 있게 만들어주는가? 삶의 의미 연구에 대한 개관 = What makes our life worth living? A Review of Research on meaning of Life

국문 초록 (Abstract)

현재까지 진행되어 온 삶의 의미에 관한 연구들을 개관하면서 안녕감(well-being) 연구 영역의 큰 틀에서 행복 연구와의 관계를 정리하였다. (1) 삶의 의미에 대한 정의 및 측정의 문제. (2) 삶의 의미를 제공하는 원천들에 대한 실증적 연구들, (3) 삶의 의미의 동기적 요인에 대한 Baumeister의 이론. (4)삶의 의미를 목표(goal)의 관점에서 조망하는 연구들. (5) 행복 연구 영역에서의 대립되는 두 입장, 그리고 (6) 삶의 의미와 행복의 구분을 다루는 연구들이 개관되었다. 삶의 의미와 행복에 관한 연구는 최근에 급격한 증가를 보이고 있지만, 궁극적으로 '삶을 살만한 가치가 있게 만들어 주는 것이 무엇인가에 대한 문제에 있어서 그러한 체험의 본질에 대한 접근은 아직 탐색적 단계에 있다고 여겨진다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The studies on meaning of life were reviewed. Within the framework of well-being research realm. the relationship between meaning of life and happiness constructs were examined as follows: (1) defining and measuring meaning of life. (2) the empirical studies on the sources providing meaning of life. (3) Baumeister's theory explaining meaning of life as four basic needs (4) the studies dealing with meaning of life in terms of the goal. (5) two relatively distinct perspectives within the field of the well-being. and (6) the studies relevant to the distinction between meaning of life and happiness. Recently, the studies on meaning of life and happiness have increased rapidly. These two constructs ultimately concerns 'what makes life worth living.' however, there's no agreement about the nature of the experience, for now.
