통합적 접근에 의한 소비자교육 프로그램이 유아의 경제개념에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of a Consumer Education Program based on an Integrated Approach to Teaching Young Children's Economic Concepts

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 통합적 접근에 의한 소비자교육 프로그램이 유아의 경제 개념에 미치는 영향을 알아본 것이다. J시의 D어린이집 만 5세반 2학급의 원아 43명(실험집단-22명, 통제집단-21명)을 대상으로 동일한 생활주제에 따른 교육과정이 제공되었으며 유사한 환경 및 일과의 운영이 이루어졌다. 실험집단 유아에게만 자유선택활동 시간을 이용해 14주간 처치가 이루어졌으며 사전사후재검사를 실시하였다. 통합적 접근에 의한 소비자교육 프로그램은 이기숙 외(1998) 등에 기초해 본 연구자가 고안한 것으로 생활주제에 따른 5개 영역에서의 16개 단위 활동과 생활주제와 관계없이 지속적으로 실시되는 3개 활동으로 구성되었다. Laney(1995)의 경제 개념 검사를 실시한 결과, 사후 검사에서 전반적으로 유의한 증진 효과가 나타났다. 즉 경제 개념의 하위영역에서 희소성과 기회비용을 제외한 화폐가치, 교환가치, 자원과 생산, 재화와 용역, 보충과 대안 개념에서 유의한 증진 효과가 있었다. 또한 4개월 후 실시한 재검사 결과에서도 교육의 효과가 지속적임을 확인하였다.

This study investigates the effects of a consumer education program based on an integrated approach to teaching young children's economic concepts. The subjects of this study were 43 children (experimental group -22 children, control group -21 children) aged five in 2 classes of D day care center in J City. Each class had identical conditions in terms of curriculum, environment and daily routines.
The activities were employed for a 14- week period during free-choice activity times. Pre-test, post-test, and the follow-up test were conducted.
The consumer education program using an integrated approach in this study was designed by researchers and based on Lee Ki Sook et al.(1998). The program is composed of sixteen activities covering five-areas relating to curriculum themes, and three activities, designed to be continuously employed regardless of the curriculum themes.
The results of the post-test, the Economic Concept Test by Laney(1995),
showed overall positive effects. The children in the experimental group showed significant growth in all sub-areas of the economic concepts explored (money value, exchange value, resource & production, goods & services, complements & substitutes) except for two: (scarcity and opportunity cost). Also, the continued effects of the program were validated by the follow-up test, which was conducted 4 months after the program's end.
