장애아동 부모들의 품앗이 부모자조활동이 양육스트레스와 가족역량강화 및 가족의 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 = The Effects of a Poomassi Parent Self-help Activity among Parents of Children with Disabilities on Parenting Stress, Family Empowerment and Family Quality of Life

The purpose of the study was to examine the effect of a Poomassi parent self-help activities among parents of children with disabilities on parenting stress, family empowerment, and family quality of life. The Poomassi parent self-help activities provide parents of children with special needs with the opportunity to receive emotional, informational, and parenting support from other parents who have experienced similar set of circumstances. Twenty six families of children with disabilities participated in this study. These families were divided into two groups(experimental and control). The experimental group participated in the Poomassi parent self-help activities, while the control group did not. The Poomassi parent self-help activities were implemented for 9 months(18 sessions). To examine the effects of the program, pretest-posttest control group design was applied. The differences between pre-test and post-test of two groups were analyzed using independent t-test. The results of the study were as follows: First, the mothers' parenting stress in experimental group decreased significantly higher than that of control group. Second, the family empowerment level perceived by mothers increased significantly higher than that of control group. Third, there was no group difference in family quality of life. Discussions of the results and implications for future studies are provided.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 장애자녀 양육에 어려움을 경험하는 장애아동 부모들이 품앗이 소모임을 구성하고 자신의 자녀와 다른 가정의 장애자녀를 함께 양육하는 부모자조활동을 실시하고, 그 효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 취학 전과 초등학교 재학 중인 장애자녀를 둔 26가정을 모집하여 실험, 통제집단으로 구분한 후, 실험집단 13가정을 4개의 품앗이 소모임으로 나누어 각 소모임별로 6개월 동안 자녀를 돌보기 위한 양육 프로그램을 계획하고 실행하는 자조모임을 진행하였다. 이와 같은 품앗이 부모자조활동이 참여자의 양육스트레스와 가족역량강화 및 가족의 삶의 질에 미치는 효과를 살펴보기 위해 실험․통제집단의 사전 사후 차이 점수에 대해 독립표본 t검정을 실시한 결과, 품앗이 부모자조활동에 참여한 실험집단의 어머니와 이러한 부모자조활동에 참여하지 않은 통제집단의 어머니는 양육스트레스와 가족역량강화의 변화정도에서 집단 간 유의한 차이를 보였으나, 실험집단 부모와 통제집단 부모 간 가족의 삶의 질의 변화정도에서는 유의한 차이를 보이지 않는 것으로 나타났다.
