사회병리적 Agenda : 사회적 가치관이 한국의 다문화 수용성에 미치는 영향 = An Empirical Analysis of Multicultural Acceptability in Korea: Focusing on the Effects of Social Values

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Based on the 2008 KGSS databases, this study attempts to explore facts and features concerning about multicultural acceptabilities in Korea, and to explain the causal effect of `social values`(such as class identification, political orientation, ethnocentrism, confucian value, and perception toward globalization) on the attitudes of multicultural acceptabilities empirically. Major findings are as follows. First, while many Koreans generally have open-mined and tolerable attitudes to foreigners, but also show negative attitudes about the increase of migrant workers and marriage migrant women. Second, progressive political orientations have proved a strong positive effect on the enhancement of multicultural acceptabilities in Korea, but in contrast, confucian values have a negative effect on those tendencies. Third, while the positive attitudes toward globalization and high-leveled class identifications have partially proved positive effects on multicultural acceptabilities, but ethnocentrism has partially proved negative effects.
