현상학적 심리학자의 인간관을 통한 인격 연구 = A Study on Person(獨) in Phenomenological Psychologist's Human Being-Understanding

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본고는 현상학적 심리학자인 칼 로저스와 아브라함 매슬로의 인간관을 조사·정리하고, 이것을 토대로 인격을 논의하고자 한다.
이들의 인간관에 따르면, 로저스는 인간을'진정한 자기되기 위해 부단히 노력하는 존재'라 하고, 매슬로는'생명적 욕구가 채워진 후 성장 동기로 세상을 있는 그대로 받아들이고 그래서 자기실현하며 경이로운 가능성을 열고 성취해 가려는 자'라 한다. 로저스는 인간을 그의 삶을 통해서 본연의 내면에 있는'진정한 자기되기'의 기능을 수행하는 자로 보고 있고, 매슬로는 인간을 동물과 달리 상위동기라 일컫는 성장 동기에 따르는 행위로'자기실현 하는'자로 보고 있다. 따라서 이 두 학자들은 인간이 선천적으로 더 충만한 존재가 되려는 그리고 자신의 인간성을 더 완전하게 실현하려는 존재로 보고 있음을 알 수 있다. 그리고 그런 존재로서 인간이 내면적으로 자신의 활동을 경험하고, 또 활동하는 자신을 경험하게 될 때, 진정한 자기가 되어가는 등 인격이 형성되어진다는 것을 밝힐 수 있다. 또 자기실현의 욕구로 동기화된 삶을 사는 인간은 사실에 대해 뛰어난 지각을 가지고, 자기뿐만 아니라 타인에 대해 수용의 자세도 갖추고, 그의 자발성도 증가하게 되고, 문제에 대한 집중력도 증가하고, 매우 빈번하게 절정경험도 하게 되어서 결국 자신의 본성에 충실하고, 자신을 신뢰하고, 진실하고, 자발적이고, 정직하게 표현하고, 행동의 근원을 깊은 내면에서 찾는 등의 자기 실현하는 방향으로 인격이 형성되어진다는 것도 밝힐 수 있다. 그 결과로 인간은 자기 스스로 인격을 형성해갈 본연의 기능과 능력을 소지하고 있음을 확인하고, 그 기능과 능력으로 인간은 로저스가 말하는'진정한 자기되기를 통해서 이르는 참자기'와 매슬로가 말하는'성장동기에 따르는 삶을 부단히 삶으로써 도달하는 자기실현자'가 될 수 있음을 확인한다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Karl Logers stated that human being strives to discover and become himself. Abraham Maslow stated that since a potentiality in human being not only will be or could be, his self-actualization values as goals exist and are real even though not yet actualized. Therefore human being is simultaneously that which he is and that which he yearns to be. Man demonstrates in his own nature a pressure toward fuller and fuller being, more and more perfect actualization of his humanness.
As to Logers, it is quite probable that we have here a theoretical link to the described facts of humility and pride in self-actualizing, authentic person, and each individual tends to become a separate and distinct and unique person. Accordingly we could describe self-actualization as a development of Person(獨) which frees a person from an instinct-life. As to Maslow, healthy people by way of motivational status have gratified their basic needs for safety, belongingness, love, respect and self-esteem so that they are motivated primarily by trends to self-actualization. This self-actualization is defined as ongoing actualization of potentials, capacities and talents, as fulfillment of mission, as a fuller knowledge of, and acceptance of, the persons own intrinsic nature. Hence these healthy people are defined by describing : superior perception of reality, increased acceptance of self, of others and of nature, increased spontaneity, increased in problem-centering, greater freshness of appreciation, and richness of emotional reaction, higher frequency of peak experiences, greatly increased creativeness and so forth.
Since it is so, we also know that those two scholars regard human being as having his own making Person' function and ability, in addition Logers's authentic ego through becoming a authentic person and Maslow's self-actualization by way of a life of growthmotivation are at once a completion of Person, a goal of Person-formation.
