대학생용 영성 척도 개발 = Development of a Spirituality Scale for University Students

The purpose of this study were to develop a Spirituality Scale(SS) for university students and to validate it. This study was involved took three steps. First, 120 preliminary item were based on theoretical literature, and 30 items were eliminated based on the judgements of expert(5 counseling psychologists, & 2 school teacher majored in Korean) to verify the content validity. Second, the scale consisting of 90 items was administered to samples of 153 University Students, and 43 items were eliminated based on item-Scale correlation and factor extraction. Finally, the datas were collected from 608 samples, and 59 samples of them were eliminated based on response dishonesty. The datas of 549 samples were collected, and items of the scale were further reduced to 41 items based on item-scale correlation and factor extraction. The confirmatory factor analysis was performed to examine 3 constructs, and it showed a good fit of the model. The first factor(14 item) was related with cognitive, the second(15 item) was with behavioral, and the last(12 item) was with affective components of group identity. These were named ‘Spirituality cognition’, ‘Spirituality behavior’, and ‘Spirituality emotion’. Internal consistency (Cronbach's α) of total score showed .981 and cronbach's α of 3 subfactors demonstrated .934-.977. To verify the convergent validity and discriminant validity of the developed scales, the meaning in life scale and the depression scale were administered. The result of the study indicated that the Spirituality Scale scores positively and significantly correlated with the meaning in life scale, negatively and significantly correlated with the depression scale. Thus SS demonstrated satisfactory convergent validity and discriminant validity. In addition, the limitation of study and the practical use of the SS was discussed.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 대학생들을 대상으로 영성을 측정하는데 사용할 수 있는 영성 척도를 개발하고, 척도의 타당도와 신뢰도를 확인하고자 하였다. 이를 위하여 선행연구와 기존척도의 고찰을 통하여 120문항을 제작하여 상담심리전문가 5명에게 내용타당도를, 국어교사 2명에게 문항표현의 적절성을 검증받아 수정․보완하여 90문항의 1차 예비척도를 구성하였다. 이들 문항에 대해 대구, 경북지역 대학생 153명을 대상으로 1차로 자료를 수집하여 요인분석을 한 후, 43문항으로 구성된 2차 예비척도를 제작하였다. 수정보완 된 43문항의 예비척도에 대해 전국지역에 있는 대학생 549명을 대상으로 자료를 수집하여 요인분석 등의 방법을 통해 최종적으로 3요인 41문항 척도를 개발하였다. 요인 1은 영성의 인지 요인(14문항), 요인 2는 영성의 행동 요인(15문항), 요인 3은 영성의 정서 요인(12문항)으로 명명하였다. 영성 척도 전체에 대한 Cronbach의 α 계수는 .981이고, 3개 하위요인 각각은 .934～.977로 나타났다. 개발된 척도의 타당도 검증을 위해 영성 척도와 삶의 의미 척도, 우울척도간의 상관을 알아보았다. 영성 척도와 삶의 의미 척도와의 적률상관계수는 각각 .340으로 .01 수준에서 통계적으로 유의한 정적 상관을 보였으며, 영성 척도와 우울척도와의 적률상관계수는 -.342로 .01 수준에서 통계적으로 유의한 부적 상관을 보임으로써 수렴타당도 및 변별타당도가 양호한 것으로 검증되었다. 또한 3주 간격의 검사-재검사 신뢰도(.825)와 반분 신뢰도(.885)에서 비교적 높은 신뢰도를 나타내었다. 이로써 본 연구에서 개발한 척도의 활용방안 및 연구의 제한점과 추후 연구 과제를 논의하였다.
