국내외 역량기반 교육과정 사례 분석 및 시사점 = Competency Based Curriculum in Korea and Other Countries and the Implications

국문 초록 (Abstract)

이 연구의 목적은 국내외 역량기반 교육과정 운영 사례를 분석하고 교육현장에 적용할 수 있는 시사점을 탐색하는데 있다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위해 역량의 의미와 특성에 대해 살펴보았고, 호주, 뉴질랜드, 캐나다 등과 같은 해외 국가와 우리나라의 기업, 정부 기관, 대학 등의 역량기반 교육과정 운영 사례에 대해 각각 살펴보았다. 연구 결과, 시사점은 다음과 같다. 첫째, 해외에서 진행된 교육개혁과 국내에서 운영된 역량기반 교육과정은 모두 기존 교육과정 또는 교육시스템의 대안적 성격을 지니고 있었다. 둘째, 사용되고 있는 역량 개념에 관한 요소 및 내용에 있어 통일된 합의점을 도출하기가 쉽지 않았다. 셋째, 새롭게 개발되어 교육현장에서 사용되고 있는 역량기반 교육과정은 실제성을 추구하고 있었다. 넷째, 역량기반 교육과정을 개발하여 적용할 때는 유연성을 필요로 하고 있었다. 이 연구는 역량개념을 기반으로 하는 새로운 교육과정을 개발하여 적용하거나 정책을 수립하여 실행할 때 실질적인 도움을 제공할 것으로 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purposes of this study are to analyze the competency based curricula in Korea and other countries and to seek their implications for educational practice. To achieve the purposes of this study, the paper examined the concepts and features of competency and researched the applications of competency based curricula in the enterprises, government organizations and universities in foreign countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Canada as well as Korea The results of this study are as follows, First both the education reform progressing in foreign countries and the competency based curricula operating in Korea purport to be alternatives to the present educational systems and curricula. Second, it was difficult to find out the agreed elements and contents of the concept of competency. Third, competency based curriculum which is newly developed and used in the field of education is practice-oriented. Fourth, flexibility was required when competency based curriculum was developed and applied. This study expects to provide some substantial implications for the development of a new curriculum and a new educational policy.
