어머니의 원부모 애착표상과 어머니 자아존중감 및 유아 자아존중감의 관계 = The Relations Among Mother's Attachment Representations, Mother's Self-Esteem, and Child's Self-Esteem

The purpose of this study was to examine the relations among mother’s reported childhood attachment representations of their parents of origin, mother’s self-esteem, and child’s self-esteem, and to investigate the mediating effect of mother’s self-esteem between mother’s attachment representations and child’s self-esteem. One hundred twenty-seven 5-year-old children (70 males, 57 females) and their mothers participated in the study. The mothers answered a questionnaire on the subject of attachment representations of their parents of origin and their own self-esteem. The preschoolers’ self-esteem was evaluated by their teachers. The results showed that the secure attachment representations of mothers toward their parents related with mother’s self-esteem and child’s self-esteem positively. Also, mother’s self-esteem related with child’s self-esteem positively. In addition, mother’s self-esteem had a partial mediating effect between mother’s attachment representations of their fathers of origin and child’s self-esteem, but no mediating effect between mother’s attachment representations of their mothers of origin and child’s self-esteem.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 현실적인 수준의 자아존중감을 형성하게 되는 만 5세 유아의 자아존중감과 어머니의 자아존중감 및 어머니의 원부모 애착표상과의 관계를 밝히고, 어머니의 원부모 애착표상과 유아 자아존중감과의 관계에서 어머니 자아존중감의 매개효과를 구체적으로 밝히고자 하였다. 본 연구의 대상은 만 5세 유아 127명(남아 70명, 여아 57명)과 그들의 어머니이며, 유아들의 어머니에게 자신의 원부모에 대한 애착표상과 어머니의 자아존중감에 대한 설문에 응답하도록 하였으며, 유아의 자아존중감에 대해서는 담임교사가 그동안 관찰되었던 내용을 토대로 평정하도록 하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 어머니의 원아버지 애착표상과 원어머니 애착표상은 높은 정적상관을 나타냈으며, 어머니의 원아버지 애착표상과 원어머니 애착표상 모두 어머니의 자아존중감과 정적 상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 어머니의 원아버지 애착표상과 원어머니 애착표상 모두 유아의 자아존중감과 정적상관이 있는 것으로 나타났다. 또한 어머니의 자아존중감이 높을수록 유아의 자아존중감도 높아지는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 어머니의 원아버지 애착표상과 유아 자아존중감 사이에서 어머니 자아존중감은 부분매개효과(partial mediating effect)가 있었으나, 어머니의 원어머니에 대한 애착표상과 유아 자아존중감 사이에서 어머니 자아존중감의 매개효과는 없는 것으로 나타났다.
