국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구의 목적은 리더십과 목표설정이론의 역사적 발전과정을 고찰하고, 이를 바탕으로 프로젝트의 성과를 이룰 수 있는 프로젝트 관리자의 리더십 역량과 유형을 확인하고자 함에 있다. 현대 기업은 프로젝트를 중심으로 이루어지기 때문에 프로젝트를 주관하고 있는 리더의 역량과 유형은 중요하다. 하지만 기존의 연구는 이들 역량과 유형이 곧바로 프로젝트 성과에 영향을 미치는지 알아보는 연구가 주를 이루고 있다. 이는 현실적으로 프로젝트 수행이 프로젝트 리더 혼자에 의해 이루어지는 것이 아니기 때문에 프로젝트를 성공적으로 이끌기 위한 방안을 설명하는 데에는 한계가 있다. 따라서 본 연구는 리더십 이론과 목표설정이론의 발전과정을 고찰하고, 이를 기반으로 팀원들이 프로젝트 목표를 달성할 수 있도록 하는 프로젝트 리더의 리더십 유형 및 역할을 확인 하는 연구모형을 설정하였다. 이를 분석하기 위해 MANOVA, ANOVA, ANCOVA의 방법론을 이용하였으며, 그 결과 일부 프로젝트 리더의 역량에 따라 성과가 달라지며, 또한 일부 역량에 따라 리더십 유형이 달라짐을 확인하였다. 본 연구는 프로젝트를 관리하는 기업 관계자에게 시사하는 바가 클 것으로 기대된다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The study aims to consider the historic improvement for leadership and goal-setting theories and to identify the leadership competency and style of project leaders that makes it possible to achieve the performance of the projects. Due to the traits of many modern companies mainly processed by projects, the leadership competency and style of the leaders controlling the projects has been considered as one of most significant factors in succeeding the projects. While recent researches tend to merely measure the direct effects of their leadership competency and style on the corresponding projects performances, they reach the limit of explaining the competency and style of project leaders, because no project can succeed without collaborations of the project members. Therefore the study establishes the research model based on Goal-Setting Theory, which puts greate emphasis on the role of project leaders. To test the proposed hypotheses, the study uses various comparison statistical methods, such as MANOVA, ANOVA, and ANCOVA. The findings illustrate that there are significant differences on the projects performances based on the leadership competency and style of project leaders.
