    This study examined associations between children`s theory of mind and pretend play with familiar TV fairy-tale which examined how theory of mind might relate to behavior toward false-belief and appearance-reality distinction with pretense. Preschoolers ages 3-5(N= 45) viewed scenes from the Little Red Riding Hood television series depicting make-believe or realistic actions. Children were questioned concerning the presence of pretense and the thoughts and beliefs of the TV characters. The children were also presented with false belief and appearance/reality theory of mind tasks. According to the data, there were significant differences between pretend play and the theory of mind which emphasizes the correlation between performance on meta-representation tasks and inferring a pretender`s mental state rather than children`s absolute level of performance. Moreover, the group of pretend play to the false-belief tasks increased from age 3 to age 4 and then reached a plateau with 5-year-olds scoring similarly to 4-year-olds.
