Information Sharing Capabilities, Supply-Chain Agility and Their Impact on Performance

There has been a growing recognition that supply chain agility is one of critical importance to the success of the business organisations in a highly dynamic competitive environment. Agile supply-chain management is now recognized as a core competitive strategy. When we look at the literature, it is found that a wealth of literature has existed to exploring what affect the agility. A review of the works reveals a various factors which could affect the agility. The paper has, however, argued that IT capability and collaborative potential are the major capabilities with reasoning that “a supply chain partner can only engage in information sharing if a collaborative relationship exists that facilitates the sharing of data, and the partner also has in place an appropriate IT infrastructure”. By drawing upon recent thinking in the logistics, SCM, and IT management literatures, this paper has used a SEM (structural equation modelling) to explore that information technology capabilities and collaboration influence firm performance through the agile SCM of marine equipments suppliers.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

환경의 변화가 빨라지고 시장의 불확실성이 증가함에 따라, 급변하는 고객의 요구에 신속히 대응하는 공급체인상에서의 민첩성이 기업의 핵심역량으로서 강조되고 있다. 이러한 이유로 산업체에서 민첩성은 공급사슬관리에 있어서 기업성공을 위한 대단히 중요한 이슈로 부각되고 있으며, 이와 더불어 공급사슬 민첩성을 향상시키는 방안에 대한 연구가 학계에서도 이루어지고 있다. 다수의 연구들이 공급사슬의 민첩성을 향상시키기 위한 여러 가지 대안을 제시하고 있으나, 본고는 이를 향상시키기 위해서는 공급사슬 구성원들 간의 협업과 정보공유 능력이 민첩성을 높이기 위한 가장 중요한 요인이라고 주장하고 있다. 이러한 주장에 대한 타당성을 뒷받침하기위해 본 논문은 문헌조사를 통한 협업, 정보공유 능력, 공급사슬 민첩성간의 이론수립과 더불어, 조선기자재업체를 대상으로 한 실증분석을 통해 이들 간의 관계를 규명하고 있다.
