다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Little is known about narrative ability of school-aged children in Korea. This study addresses the ability of narrative ability of 30 Korean school-aged children, grade first to third. Childrens story-generations are analyzed by story composition. The measure of story composition has several variables: the number of C-units related to story episodes, complete episode composition score and the number of C-units unrelated to the story. The number of C-units related to story episodes, complete episode composition score developed as grade goes up from 1st to 3rd and the number of C-units unrelated the story is decreased. This result implies that story composition ability of school aged children could be a valid tool for assessing Korean-speaking children discourse ability.
