예비 초등교사들의 미술품 해석 능력에 대한 연구 = A study on the abilities of Korean Pre-service Elementary Teachers in Analyzing Artworks

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구에서는 예비 초등교사들의 미술품 해석 능력에 대한 평가를 통해 예비 초등교사들의 미술 해석 능력의 수준과 미술품 해석에서의 문제점 유형 및 사례를 분석하였으며, 초·중등교육뿐만 아니라 예비 초등교사교육을 위한 교사 양성 교육과정과 관련한 시사점에 관해 논의하였다. 이를 위하여 128명의 예비 초등교사들에게 감상문을 작성하게 한 후 이를 분석하였으며, 집단 면담 및 개별 면담을 통하여 예비 초등교사들의 감상문 작성에 따른 어려움과 작품에 대한 선호 등의 전체적 의견을 알아보았다. 특정 사례의 경우, 개별 면담을 통하여 미술 해석의 개인적, 교육적, 사회적 배경의 영향을 파악하고자 하였다. 본 연구 결과, 미술품 감상 경험의 횟수와 개인적인 미술 분야에 대한 관심도에 따라 미술품에 대한 친밀도 및 이해도가 높아지는 것을 알 수 있었으며, 이는 곧 미술품 해석 능력을 결정짓는 주요 요인이 됨을 알 수 있었다. 본 연구에서 분석된 예비 초등교사들의 미술품 선호도, 작품 감상의 난이도, 미술 표현 양식별 해석 능력 정도 등에 대한 조사 결과는 현재 예비 초등교사들의 미술품 및 미술에 대한 인지 능력의 현 주소를 파악하는 것으로, 앞으로 초·중등학교의 미술교과 및 예비교사교육을 담당하고 있는 대학교의 교양 및 전공과정의 바람직한 내용 구성을 위한 기초 자료로서 의의를 지닌다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The purpose of this study was 1) to examine and analyze the abilities of Korean pre-service elementary teachers in their appreciation and analysis on artworks, and 2) to provide the basis for the content structure of pre-service curriculums in order to insure substantiality.
For this study, 10 two-dimensional paintings were chosen as objects from current art textbooks for G3-10 in Korea, with the reason of that they are more frequently showed and more representative than others. 10 artworks are composed of 5 Korean and 5 foreign, and 2(1 for Korean and 1 for foreign) of each out of 5 areas, 'representative and realistic in their depiction of objects', 'reflection of the spirit of times or social environment and issues', 'expressional feeling and emotion of the artists', 'the emphasis on the fundamental and formal characteristics(the subjects, methods, design elements and principles, and mediums), and the last, 'the emphasis on daydream or fantasy'. Those artworks were shown to 128 pre-service teachers to analyze their abilities in art appreciation. And group and individual interviews were executed in order to find out the difficulties and easiness in their description of artworks.
The finding of this study is as follows: The frequencies in confronting artworks and the degree of personal interest and experience on art area influence understanding and intimacy of artworks, which is the important factor in analyzation of artworks. For the further study, the recommendations are as follows: 1) The abilities of elementary, middle and high-school students in their appreciation and analysis on artworks should be examined, and 2) to provide the basis for the content structure of pre-service curriculums in order to insure substantiality. 3) International comparisons would be possible for the development of the content structure of art textbooks for G3-10 and pre-service curriculums in Korea.
