조선시대 한성부의 형성배경과 입지적 특성 = A Study on the Forming Background of Hansungbu and Its Locational Characteristics

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

The forming background of Hansungbu is quite different from the present urban structure of Seoul and has influenced deeply on the location of major facilities. The urban structure of Hansungbu was formed and embodied with the influence of general developing principles of preindustrial capital-city in the east Asia. Major city facilities were constructed with the principle of walled-city and dynasty-city, providing meaning and functions for those facilities. The standard for the decision of sites for those facilities was based on the physical environment such as mountains and river, and also on the location of palace and wall of Chosun dynasty. Of course those sites had their meaning and functions. This background of historical city of eastern Asia resulted in the different development of urban structure which has a different arrangement of facilities between the inside and outside of an inner city, considering on the location of dynasty`s palace. The urban structure was thus fragmented between inner city and outside, and also inner city stricture had multi-layered land-uses and hierarchial forms according to the characteristic and meaning of places. This research leaves some further required studies for a detailed understanding of the urban stricture of Hansungbu, for example Juregogonggy and the characteristics of urban structure of Gaesungbu in Korea dynasty. Also, it needs to consider the influence of the regal power for the development of urban structure and the forming of landscape in Hansungbu.
