The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of marathon participant motivation on exercise flow and leisure satisfaction. The subjects consisted of 295 members of marathon clubs in Kwang Won·Kung Kee provinces using stratified cluster random sampling.
The survey questionnaire were used to data. The questionnaire for marathon participation motivation was Master-Ogles Marathon Scale(MOMS) developed by Master et al.(1990) and modified, simplified in Korean language by this researcher. The questionnaire for
exercise flow was Expansion of the sports commitment model(ESCM) developed by Scanlan et al.(1993) and standardized in Korean language by Jung(1997). The questionnaire for leisure satisfaction was Leisure Satisfaction Scale(LSS) developed by Bearb and Ragheb(1980) and standardized in Korean language by LEE(1992).
The statistical method utilized in this study for analyzing the collected data was multi regression analysis.
The verified results through this study are summarized as follows.
Firstly, The marathon participation motivation in marathon club runners gave generally significant influence on exercise flow.
Secondly, The marathon participation motivation in marathon club runners gave generally significant influence on leisure satisfaction.
