초등학교 체육 수업 환경에 관한 연구 = A Study on the Reality and Improvement of Physical Education Teaching Environment in Elementary School

The purpose of this study was to investigate the reality of elementary school physical education environment.
The population of this study was all 115 elementary schools in Kwang-ju city. The subjects, 18 schools were selected by using a stratified cluster random sampling technique by school scale. The research content included the practical situation of physical teaching environment such as extent of playground , facilities, materials and tools, the situation of gymnasium or pool possession and the condition of material keeping-house. The data was collected by direct checking on visiting 18 schools and analyzed through statistical procedures using the frequence, percentage and Chi-square test.
The major results of this study were as follows;
First, playground area per a student had a big gap to a school scale and was narrow on comparing to another country such as Japan and Singapore.
Second, physical education facilities were poor.
Third, the possession rate of materials and tools was very low.
Fourth, material keeping-houses were not so sufficient space as to use conveniently.
