This study was underkaken to identify the health-promoting behavior and quality of life and to explore the relationship between health-promoting behavior, self-efficacy, self-esteem, climacteric symptoms and quality of life among the middle-aged women. The Subjects for this study were 101 women and a data were obtained by self-reported questionnaires.
The Questionnaires was composed of health promotion life styles profile, self-efficacy scale, self-esteem scale, climacteric symptoms check-list and quality of life scale.
Analysis of data was done by use of descriptive statistics, ANOVA, Pearson Correlation and Stepwise multiple reggression.
The results were summarized as follows :
1. The socres on the health-promoting behavior scale range from 46 to 114 and the mean score is 77.95 (SD=12.99).
2. The scores on the quality of life scale ranged from 92 to 182 and the mean score is 141.93 (SD=19.59).
3. Stepwise multiple regression analysis showed that :
1) self-esteem was the main predictor and accounted for 21.75% of total variance to health-promoting behavior
2) Self-steem, climacteric symptoms and health-promoting behavior were contributor to quality of life.
4. Health-promoting behavior was positively correlated with self-efficacy(r=.1550) and self-esteem (r=.3714)
5. Quality of life was positively correlated with health-promoting behavior(r=.3647) and negatively correlated with climacteric symptoms(r=-.4638).
In conclusion, self-esteem, climacteric symptoms and health-promoting behavior were important variables relation to quality of life. And health-promotion behavior . The analysis of this study have implication for management of middle aged women's health to increase the quality of life of them.
