The main purpose of this research study was to develop the School Quality Satisfaction Survey(SQSS) and to gather information about the perceptions of parents, teachers, and administrators concerning their high school and to illustrate a recommended procedure for the presentation and analysis of data. The focus group was two high schools.
The literature review was conducted in four areas of concentration which contributed to the development of SQSS instrument; dimensions associated with service quality; Total Quality Management criteria; effective schools characteristics; and parent expectations of excellent school. A quantitative approach was utilized to gather data for this study. The SQSS was revised from a service organization questionnaire.
Teachers, administrators, and parents of the schools were offered the opportunity to respond to the survey and comparisons between the respondent groups' responses were conducted. The differences between the expectations and perceptions are valuable to schools to aid in the development of strategies in narrowing the gaps to improve their service quality performance.
