유아교육에서의 반편견 교육의 적용 = Anti-bias curriculum in the early childhood education

국문 초록 (Abstract)

본 연구는 유아교육에서 반편견 교육의 적용에 대한 이론적 고찰을 목적으로 하였다.
이를 위하여 반편견 교육에 대한 개념 탐색에서부터 우리나라 유아교육과정에서의 적용방향을 이미 관심을 갖고 교육에 적용해온 국가들에서의 선행연구를 바탕으로 문헌 고찰하였다.
유아교육에서 반편견 교육의 적용은 21세기 살아가는 삶의 태도와 능력으로서 포함되어야 할 필요성이 인식되고 있다. 반편견 교육은 개인과 진단 구성원으로서의 긍정적 정체감 형성을 바탕으로 다양성을 수용하고 편견을 갖지 않고 차별하지 않으며 또한 편견과 차별에 대항하는 능력을 기르기 위한 ‘자유의 실천’교육이다. 반편견 교육의 주제는 자아 정체감, 민족의 차이점과 공통점ㆍ종교ㆍ신념ㆍ가족 등의 문화의 다양성, 성, 능력, 외모, 연령 등을 포괄한다. 반편견을 위한 교육적 접근은 이러한 주제들이 연간 교육과정 속에 통합되는 것이 가장 바람직하다.
구체적인 진행과정에서는 환경을 바꾸기, 문학적 접근 및 사연 있는 인형의 사용, 특별한 날에 대한 재해석과 적용이 제안되었다. 무엇보다 반편견 교육의 적용을 위하여는 교육 실천자로서 교사의 변화부터 선행되어야 함이 강조되었다.

This report is to study the concept of anti-bias education and to explore it's application to early childhood education.
To this, review the research arid literature that describe the concept of anti-bias curriculum and approaches.
It is important for young children who live the times of globalization to experience anti-bias education.
Anti-bias education is an attempt to help children practice of freedom by empowering them to accept the differences of people and their life styles, not to have any prejudice, ar ' to have ability to stand up for fairness.
The themes of anti-bias curriculum involve self-identity, race, religion, values, family style, gender, ability, and age. To implement anti-bias education for young children successfully these themes should be integrated into the existing early childhood curriculum.
As preferable methods of anti-bias education, rearranging classroom environment to encourage antibias concepts and attitudes, implementing literature-based approach and persona doll approach, and practicing of reinterpreted activities under the theme 'holiday' are suggested. It is emphasized that teachers must reflect their own anti-bias attitudes and behaviors before they try anti-bias approaches.
