지식기반사회에서 전문대학의 성인평생학습제도로서의 발전 과제와 전망 = Directions and Tasks of Adult Lifelong Learning Systems at Korean Junior Colleges in the Knowledge-based Society

국문 초록 (Abstract)

21세기 지식기반사회의 출현, 세계화에 의한 글로벌 경제체제, 급격한 노동시장의 변화의 구조 속에서 성인 학습자들은 전 생애에 걸쳐 작업 및 생존에 필요한 지식과 기술의 혁명적 변화와 양 적인 폭증에 대처하여야 한다. 성인 학습자들을 위하여 우리나라의 전문대학에서 제공하는 1) 학점은행제 2) 시간제학생 등록제 3) 평생교육원 4) 전공 심화과정 5) 산업체 위탁교육 과정과 6) 원격교육(사이버대학)의 현황과 문제점을 살펴보고, 미국 커뮤니티 칼리지(community colleges)의 성인학습자들을 위한 평생학습제도를 개관하고, 시사점을 도출하여 미래의 우리나라 단기 고등교육기관의 성인들을 위한 평생학습제도의 발전 방향을 모색하였다.

다국어 초록 (Multilingual Abstract)

Emergence of knowledge-based society in the 21st Century, globalized world economy, and drastic changes of labor market in Korea for the past several years have caused great challenge for adult learners due to revolutionary changes and enormous increase of knowledge and technology required for their survival and career development throughout their life-cycle.
Current situations and problems of adult and continuing education at Korean Junior Colleges(2-3years) were studied. This paper focused on the analyses of current situation and problems of the academic systems and practices of adult lifelong education, 1) Credit Bank System, 2) Part-time Student Program 3) Center for Lifelong Education 4) Major In-depth Continuing education Program 5) Customized training(A.A.S. degree program; evening program) 7) Distance Education(Cyber Colleges) offered at Junior Colleges in Korea.
Adult and Continuing education at American community colleges were surveyed, and various implications were drawn for applying toward the advancement of adult lifelong learning at Korean Junior Colleges. Directions and tasks were suggested for further policy making and development of future adult lifelong learning at short-term higher education institutions in Korea.
