한국인을 위한 영성척도의 개발 = Development of the Spirituality Scale

This research was to develop a scale to quantitatively measure the degree of spirituality based on the the spirituality constructs facters. Because western and eastern concepts of the spirituality are different, the existing spirituality scales created for westerners are not proper for Koreans who have the eastern way of thought. Therefore, it has been needed to create the spirituality scale for Koreans. This research to develop the spirituality scale has been done two processes, for items constructs and the facter analysis of the spirituality scale. The spirituality scale created by this research has 6 facters, the transcendence, the meaning and purpose of life, compassion, inner resources, awareness, and connectedness. And each facters has 5 items and all six facters have 30 items. The Cronbach-alpha of the spiritually scale was .93. In the cronbach-alpha of each facters, transcendence was .83, the meaning and purpose of life .79, compassion .75, inner resources .77, awareness .72, and connectedness .74. In the correlation of each facters, the correlation of transcendence and the meaning of life is .51 and other correlation are under .50. the correlation of awareness and connectedness is .27, the correlation of compassion and inner resources .24, the correlation of inner resources and awareness .29. The spirituality scale developed by this research is meaningful to be able to apply for Koreans.

국문 초록 (Abstract)

영성의 정의를 근간으로 본 연구에서 개발한 영성척도는 한 개인의 영성을 양적으로 측정할 수 있는 도구로써, 만족할만한 내적일치도와 요인간의 낮은 상관임을 알 수 있다. 이는 본 연구에서 개발된 영성척도가 상담 장면에서 유용한 측정 도구로 사용될 수 있음을 나타내는 것이라 할 수 있다.앞으로 보완해야 할 점은 교차타당도를 위해 새로운 집단에 검사를 실시하여 동일한 요인이 추출되는지 확인적 요인분석을 할 필요가 있다.이상의 결과를 중심으로 본 연구의 의의를 살펴보면 다음과 같다. 첫째, 한국인에게 적용할 수 있는 영성척도가 개발되었다는 점이다. 그 동안에 개발된 영성평가도구가 서양에서 개발된 것이기 때문에 동양적 사고를 가진 한국인에게 그대로 적용하기에는 문화적 차이로 인해 무리가 있었는데 한국인의 정서에 적합한 내용으로 척도를 개발했다는 면에서 의의가 있다고 본다. 서양의 영성구성요인은 대체로 삶의 의미와 목적, 내적 자원, 초월성, 연결성의 4차원으로 분류하였는데, 본 연구에서는 문헌과 실지 영성 체험에 근거하여 서양의 4차원 영성구성요인에 자각과 자비심을 포함시켜 6차원으로 분류하여 척도를 개발하였다는 점이다. 둘째, 영성프로그램 개발 시 프로그램 구성요소와 영적 수련 정도에 따른 대상별, 단계별 영성프로그램 개발에 착안점이 될 수 있다는 점에서 의의가 있다. 이 연구는 영성 프로그램 개발 시 프로그램의 구성요소를 이루는데 기초 자료를 제공 할 수 있다. 그리고 영적수련을 종교, 요가 아봐타, 상담 등에서 3년 이상 행한 성인의 영적 체험과 영적 수련을 2년 이상 행한 대학생의 영적 체험과, 심리학과 대학원생, 일반대학생이 경험한 바가 조금씩 다르다는 것이 분석되었다. 따라서 앞으로 영적 프로그램을 개발할 때 대상별, 단계별 프로그램도 가능하다는 시사점을 보여주고 있다.
