This study investigated the effect of self-regulated learning strategy program on academic achievements and psychological characteristics such as self-esteem, anxiety, and depression. Selected two second-year classes from high schools were trained with and without the self-regulated learning strategy method. The control group had no treatments and was measured twice at the same time of the experimental group. ANOVA was used to measure items such as grades, self-esteem, anxiety, and depression were measured before and after the training of the self-regulated learning strategy, repeated measures design. As a result, a statistically significant improvement appeared in the students grades in the experimental group. Regarding self-esteem, after the training, showed significantly positive improvements among three subfactors-the social area, the academic area, and the total score of self-esteem, however, there was not much difference in family area. After given the training, there was no significant difference in the level of anxiety and depression compared to the control group. This results provide significant evidence that with the training of the self-regulated learning strategy have a positive effect on the improvements of academic achievement and self-esteem, but have no significant effects on anxiety and depression.
