아동학대예방 및 보호 네트워크 분석 = Analyzing Korean Network for Prevention and Protection against Child Abuse and Neglect

Social concern about child abuse and neglect in Korean has been low, because of its long tradition of confucianism. Recently laws and regulations against child abuse and neglect have been made. Prevention and protection against child abuse and neglect could be successfully achieved through the close cooperation among various related sectors, including medical, judicial educational, public administration, social welfare, and private sector. This paper tried to establish the framework of the network of these sectors for prevention and protection of child abuse and neglect. Based on this framework, the cooperation level of each sector with centers for prevention of child abuse is examined. The result shows that the network of prevention and protection against child abuse and neglect is working in some degree, but the level of cooperation is still low. This paper also suggests policy directions for improving the effectiveness of the network.
