    The purpose of this study was to examine young children’s social interaction in a mutual friendship relations. One dyad of friendship relations had been observed in a classroom and in the playground during free play sessions for about six months. Young children in a mutual friendship relations in this study supported each other’s social behaviors during social interaction. And they controlled their emotional expressions during social interaction. In addition, they behaved in a prosocial manner such as proposal and cooperation and initiated the partner in turn during social interaction. This study showed that the nature of mutual friends during social interaction may be related to intimacy between friends and expansion of attachment toward peers in social life. Also, this study revealed that young friends interacted with each other based on cohesiveness and closeness.
