The purpose of this study was to investigate the teachers’ awareness and status of reunification-education in kindergarten. The subjects were 149 kindergarten teachers. A questionnaire was developed and used for the collection of data. The questionnaire was divided into 6 areas(the basic awareness of reunification ; the need for reunification-education ; reunification-educational content ; reunificationeducational method ; reunification-educational management ; and in-service education). F-test, χ2, and t-test were used to analyze the data. The results of this study indicated that kindergarten teachers were aware of the importance of implementing reunification education for young children. Even there were significant differences between the teacher groups. In general, the teachers responded that it was difficult to practice reunification education due to lack of the materials, content, teaching method and vague direction suggested in the present documents. Also the teachers selected the reunification contents which could be applied for the early childhood education setting from the National Kindergarten Curriculum. In addition they requested the opportunities for the in-service education for reunification education. Moreover, the results of this study suggested the information to aid in implementing effective reunification education for young children.
